Bible Notes on “Jesus Is the Standard by Which We Are To Judge Ourselves”
Matthew 5:48
When you can make the time, read the entire fifth chapter of Matthew which culminates in the verse shown above. This is the first third of the Sermon on the Mount. Reading this chapter will help you better appreciate what Jesus is requiring of us when He says we must become perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect.

Bible Notes on “Can One Person Change the World?”
Ecclesiastes 12:8-14 (This passage comments on the futility of life and the necessity of fearing God and keeping His commandments.)
Matthew 13:31-32 (This passage depicts the power of a tiny seed to become a powerful plant. Jesus is the tiny seed of a single human being, and the giant plant that came from His life is the kingdom of God which rules all other kingdoms – including the world itself.)

Bible Notes on “You Don’t Need the Church, But You Do Need the Kingdom”
Matthew 6:33
This verse of Scripture instructs us to seek first God’s kingdom. For emphasis, Jesus adds “and His righteousness.” That is, God’s kingdom is about doing the right thing.
You will find no such verse in the Bible instructing you to seek church. That instruction comes from those who operate, and benefit from, churches.

Revelation 19:13 (Here, the connection between Jesus and the word of God is even more explicit.)
