Bible Notes on “Spiritual Songs or Sensual Songs?”

leave a comment »

Exodus 32:17-18  (Just because people who call themselves by the name of the Lord are singing does not necessarily mean that the Lord is pleased with them.)

Ephesians 5:19  (Aside from what’s coming from your mouth and throat, make sure that your song to the Lord springs from your heart.)

Psalm 40:3  (This messianic psalm – that is, it prophesied Jesus – demonstrates through Him that the true song of the Lord is from the heart, not merely the lips.)

Ezekiel 33:30-33  (Take care that these words spoken to Ezekiel by the Lord do not apply to you.)

Bible Notes on “God’s Ways Versus Our Ways”

leave a comment »

Isaiah 55:6-13 (God’s ways are higher than ours.)

John 14:6  (Note that Jesus personifies the way.)

Acts 9:2; 19:9, 23; 24:14, 22  (Note that in the book of Acts, Christianity was called “The Way.”)

True Christianity is not about churchgoing, it’s about living the way Jesus did.  Thus we should be Seeking the Kingdom of God Instead of Church.

Romans 14:17  (Note that peace and joy go hand in hand with the practice of righteousness.)

Acts 3:26  (The blessing comes as we turn from wickedness to righteousness; that is, from selfishness to selflessness.)
